Some of the main events occurred during these months: Bengali Seminar, France Visit, Hon'ble President of India visits Kanha Shanti Vanam on 25th December 2017, Oceania and African seminar(5th Jan 2018), The Heartfulness Way Book Launch on 19th January 2018, Basant Celebration during 20th - 23rd January 2018, Russian Seminar on 6th Feb 2018 and International Heartfulness Training Programme - 19th Feb 2018

September - October 2017

Construction of buildings and infrastructure and tree planting have been going on at a fast pace and with great enthusiasm during September and October. The greenery at Kanha is flourishing after a long and abundant monsoon season, and tree planting reached a peak during the European seminar in October, with hundreds of volunteers planting and weeding in the early mornings and evenings every day.

Green Kanha is an ongoing initiative, and all are invited to participate and contribute to this wonderful initiative of sustainability for the future. Dear sisters and brothers,

‘Haritha Haram’, meaning the Green Garland, is a flagship programme of the Telangana State Government, India, with the vision to increase the present 24% tree cover in the state to 33% of the total geographic area. It was formally launched by the Chief Minister, Honourable Shri Chandrashekar Rao on 3 July 2015.

In recognition of exemplary contribution to this ambitious greening movement outside the notified forest areas of the state, Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Kanha Shantivanam, Ranga Reddy District, was awarded the prestigious ‘Haritha Mitra’ (Green Friend) award for the year 2016.

On the occasion of the Independence Day Celebrations on the 15 August 2017, at the Police Grounds, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, the Honourable Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Mohammed Mahmood Ali awarded the representatives of the Green Kanha Initiative.
